I'm not a very big fan of the genre, but Bob Marley's son just released an album this week, called Welcome to Jamrock.

there's actually good radio music! i heard the lead single on the way to school yesterday. :p

    (...is bob really damian's father?)

When I saw the video it was obvious he was related to Bob Marley, how else would Reggae get on MTV I thought. I thought it was going to be awful and he only got a record deal becaue of his relations, but I was impressed. Nothing groundbreaking, but the single I heard was good.

I have a Jimmy Cliff soundtrack to the 1972 movie "The Harder They Come", it's quite good. I also heard Bob Marley's 1979 album "Survival". The cover looks so cool with all the African flags. My favorite songs on that album is "Zimbabwe" and "Africa Unite".

Damien Jr Gong Marley is righteous. It is, of course, not as great as his fathers music but he def has some good shit. I think I like "trouble" the best :D

I'm suppose to be seeing him in December. It kinda seemed like he just came out of nowhere with the Welcome To Jamrock single and now he seems to be all over the place.

welcome to jamrock is actually a really happenin song. I didnt think it would be that great considering the were advertising it on "HOT 97 radio" but it has a real old school dance hall feel.
