Well, I don't even expect many replies here, but I'm curious so here we go...

With guys, sexual arousal is very often rather instantaneous. For example, I, as a guy, may see a sexy pic of somebody or read something sexually charged and may become aroused quite easily. Of course, an erection almost always occurs at such circumstances.

How about the ladies here? I understand many women usually need to have some physical stimulation before they experience their clitoral erection, but I have known one girl so far who has told me she becomes erect quite easily(and quicky, according to her) upon sexual arousal.

We men know it when an erection is coming on. We can feel the unmistakable tingles in our sexual selves. Does the same thing apply to females when their clits harden? Or does one have to actually reach down to feel herself to determine whether she is erect or not?

I'm only curious because I find this to be a very fascinating area in the human sexuality....so don't blame the Thinker, lol.

Yeah, the wetness I know to be pretty much the female equivalent of the hard-on in guys(one of my very good friends once told me this when she and I were having one of our sex-related dicussions), in terms of how instantaneous the physical reaction to sexual stimuli and the whole nine yards... But, at the same time, it essentially isn't the same thing since women DO have their own type of erection(well...clitoral).

I've always been under the impression that women tend to go through more stages than men do in their various degrees of arousal. We guys for the most part just get hard, just like that. It seems so far that, in women, wetness appears as the first sign, then the rest will fall into place. My guess is that the clitoral erection would happen sometime after the lubrication starts...

Of course, this is my own generalized hypothesis, and I am aware different girls have different things to say about it.

well, I don't get particularly wet no matter how turned on I am. I don't feel my clit harden unless I'm touching it with my fingers. Arousal for me is 99.9% in the mind, far less physical symptoms.

 

I can actually feel my clit harden without touching it. I guess, still, it's not the same feeling as a guy would get. I don't feel it physically hardening but it throbs sometimes if I'm horny and someone I'm attracted to says the right thing to me. The only reason I know this throbbing comes from my clit hardening is because I have been touching my clit and felt it throb under my fingertips and get slightly more swollen then it was before the throbbing started. Knowing this, everytime I feel it throb, I know that my clit is getting bigger.

The throbbing for me doesn't start until I'm wet.. and boy do I get wet. I've actually been so wet (before any physical stimulation) that it's looked like I peed myself.

When I am becoming aroused I can feel a throbing too, which is the new pumping influx of blood, but once the blood flow has reached it's limit it isn't really a throbing anymore. I never feel warm though like some described.

Well I've know that clits supposedly get hard when we're horny... and I'm not exactly sure what this means, but I always have a fairly hard clit. It isn't like a little pebble (lol) or anything, more like plastic covered by soft skin. Weird, I've never thought about this this way.
