Hi ppl, I'm just wondering if anyone here practices Astral Projection? Because I am interested in it and would like to hear from someone with experience. Thank You
yes. i've done it before without trying, long ago. i was reading a book about OBE's but i took it back to the library. i forget the authur now. burlman? good book, lots of peoples stories, lots of good technics. about a week ago i was laying in bed feeling the vibrations, then decided it was time to try. I DID IT! but only for a split second. i moved sideways out of my physical body, then right back in when i felt it. i think i'm too excited and scared at the same time. i haven't given up yet though.
ye cleary, i get too excited n scared to conciously do it too- anyone know of a way to stop this and free ur mind?
i got alright at it, but then fell out of practise, im makin more of an effort again now. the most important thing is to have strong intent and not just a passing thought about doin it now and then. this is a good website on it, they do a free online astral travel course and have message boards where you should be able to get any advice you need, i looked thru loads of sites before i settled with this one, the people that run it seem pretty clued up on the subject. http://www.astralweb.org/ hope that helps
Before you go travelling "Adventurous" you might want to work on getting yourself solidly grounded. People get lost out there on the astral planes sometimes and can't find their way back. The way this plays out in the physical world is that they lose their minds. The most solid spiritual people I know don't recommend fooling with astral projection until you know what your are doing. My experience has been that there are lots of cooler ways to explore the realms of spirit and psyche that are also much safer than astral projection. Simple stuff like the thanksgiving address, inner smile, six healing sounds, microcosmic orbit can be way trippier. And these are just beginnings. But if you are hell for leather to do astral projection...you can do several things to keep yourself safe. 1) go exploring with a clear purpose beyond yourself. If you are travelling to bring back knowlege from the spirit realms that is ok. If you are just out there playing you are asking for trouble. 2) Try and establish a spiritual core that can protect you. Even something as simple as saying the thanksgiving address on a daily basis for awhile should help. If you want information on the thanksgiving address you can check out the Tree of Peace Society. Its run by Jake Swamp, former chief of the Mohawk nation. His book "Giving Thanks" is a good rendition of the address. Basically what you do is systematically and sincerely speak your gratitude to all the entities of nature, starting with the people and moving through the stones, the waters, the grasses, the plants, the animals, the directions, the celestial bodies etc. The effect is to open your awareness to everything going on in nature around you, and to connect with everything. Its kind of like connecting with every entity in nature, making friends with them and getting their help to get you home if you get lost while travelling. Most people can't believe its that simple but it is and it really does work. Good luck and happy travels if thats what you decide to do.
I have read alot about it and almost done it(vibrations). If you lose track of shit you'll just snap back to your body.
i remember the last time i had an out OOBE i was in france on my first nite of holiday in dense woods, n i dodnt know the area and was scared of gettin lost! so i went back to my body!
did they freak you out when you first had the vibrations??? scared the shit out of me, dont feel natural. but got used to it and its cool now.
i'm still working on it.. my mind wanders too much i start thinking about other crap and the vibrations stop.. or i have to move because i'm not comfortable. i will do it though.. been having lots of lucid dreams lately
