I am wondering if anyone was as disapointed as me with the new starwars movie? Mainly with the Darth Vader end of things. I mean...when he breaks out of the chair at the end and then screams no with his hans at his side. HOw many times has that been done in a movie? And the charachter dialogue?

I was mad as i have loved starwars since i was a kid. and that was the last of it we will ever see. I am not a star wars geek or anything but it does bring out the kid in me. And i was disapointed. Anyone else?

Lucas cannot write worth a damn.
I saw the first three as a kid, and Empire is the only one that I liked in adulthood. Cute Ewoks, dumbass muppets that scream "I'm a muppet" and inane dialog...

As to the new series - I saw the first one with that annoying kid, saw part of the second one and fell asleep - am not bothering with the third. They can cram as many tie fighters and lightsaber duels as they want into it, it's still crap.

It's Jar Jar Binks, we have elected Queens and appointed Senators, plot holes you can drive a Mack Truck through, doesn't make sense internal contradictions, unholy mess.

I am a pretty damn big star wars fan and I enjoyed it. I thought it was by far the best of the prequals. I agree with Iron on the fact that GL cannot write but i think over all it was really solid. I think it also helps the other 2 prequals better films. And when you watch all 6 together you really get a different take on the whole saga. It's kinda weird because I always thought it was about Luke and now that we can see the whole story it is totally different and Luke almost takes a back seat to Vader/Anakin. Don't get me wrong, Luke plays a huge roll but it really is about Anakin and his redemption. I kinda went on a tangent there and got sidetracked heh, but to answere your original question. Yes, I enjoyed it.

yep! the only things i don't like much are some of the acting (you can blame lucus for that), some of the dialogue, the fact that it's all set on stages, and how vader says "nooooooooo". as for the rest of the "nooooooooo" scene though, i think it was good. i especially like the look on the emperor's face! such an evil bastard he is! :) this is my second favourite out of all of them, with the first being the empire strikes back. and with saying that, i utterly agree that this is the best of the prequels.

throwing in Tarkin at the end was kinda cool as well...

but i wish he didnt use ALL CG crap, i mean, make them like the old ones, with rea sets and everythign, but use the new technology to make it look better and focus on the story not how everything looks...

but yeah, the dialogue sucks, and is laughable on more than one occasion

my question is: putting aside that the empire "leant from their mistakes" from building the first death star, how come it takes them nearly 20 or so years to build the first one, but far less to build the second?

i don't know about you guys, but when anikin became drth vader, it totally threw me for a loop--same when Chancellor Palpatine wound up being Darth Sideous and the Emporer  and all the Jedi being killed, that was totally out of left feild

but in all seriousness, some of the minor plot details were a bit predictable

very predictable?????? duh!!!!!!! I hate it when people use this argument...... its a prequel, its supposed to be predictable!

I actually was shocked when I saw the third one. I wasnt expecting that much out of it. the first two of the prequels were rather snoozers, but the third one just blew those other two out of the water. they all still dont hold candles to the original trilogy.

although what i am about to say probobly was completly intentional, one thing i felt was maybe too much was how large the battle was above Courescant [sp]...but then again as i said, it was probobly to show the scale of everything, and hypothetically if this was real, it would probobly be that big...

maybe its just cause the origional 3 were just so empty...
