I LOVE this book! From page one it grabs you and pulls you in so that you can't put it down!!! I recommend this to everyone. They are coming out with a movie for it in December, but I think the book will be much better.
    Anyone else ever read this?

yes! i love that book too. it's hard to believe it was written by a white male in 2000 (or so). it completely reads like it was written by a japanese female

I know!!! You would never guess that a man wrote it! He spent a few years studying the history and practices of the geisha world. Luckily he was able to become friends with an ex-geisha who let him know alot about thier world!

You should!!! It is soooooo worth the money!! And plus, once you start readin it, it's so hard to put it down! It's a long book, but it only took me a week to read because i couldn't stop reading it. Believe me, once you read it you will reccomend it to everyone you know! :)

I loved this book; it's so realistic! Apparently he didn't actually just write down the life account of one woman, but it seems like he did. Can't wait to see the movie, but I'm positive that the book is much better. ~Nova

I would say old enough to know what sex is. They talk about the girl getting her virginity taken away from her, but they don't exactly call it that.....they explain it more like "the eel finds the hole....." You get the point. It's a great book and I am sure that sophomores are more then old enough to read it and understand it. And since it's all girls, the book will be perfect for you guys!
    ENJOY!

Exactley! It won't take you long to read the book, cause once you start reading it, it's hard to put down! I heard it's coming out in theater in DEC. Anyone hear of an exact date yet? I am excited to see it! :)

Buy it on-line, it's cheeper! :) But if you really want to read it and can't afford to get it, I'd be willing to send it to you as long as I get it back! :)
    Man, I love that book...........

Wow, this book was amazing. [IMG] I loved all of it. I was, however, a bit disappointed with the ending. When I had first read about the Chairman I definitely wanted Sayuri (sp?) to hook up with him. Then I met Nobu-san, and after reading about him and knowing him better..I dunno, I just felt the Sayuri would've been better off with Nobu-san. lol Maybe I thought of myself as Sayuri and wanted to be with Nobu-san. [IMG] That makes much more sense, now that I think about it.

But anyhow, yeah, I agree with what everyone's said. It's a great book and I'd recommend it to anyone. I've haven't seen the movie for it yet, but it looked absolutely wonderful when I saw the trailer for it. Anyone else going to go see it? [IMG]
