That was a tip of the hat to the actual paper comic books. She always used to say that, so for the collectors of the comics, it was nostalgic. I can only assume you folks didn't read the comic books, especially not a few decades ago. Blue skies, -Jeffrey
That's the point! He's so desperate that he resorts to using his powers. He was being over dramatic. Didn't you get that?
I got it. It's just that it was stupid and hyperbolic. And about "contrived" -- you are not thinking of the same definition/usage that I meant. I'm talking about "too carefully orchestrated to be credible," or as the dictionary here says it, "too obviously the result of forethought and planning; not spontaneous or natural." In other words, it tried too hard. Blue skies, -Jeffrey
just got back from it... i almost walked out cursing the entire movie, until mary jane walked out on...well, you know what happens at the end. i won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it. but, until she did that, i was pissed off at the movie. few funny bits, very few cool action bits. just not what i'd expect from a movie about THE coolest superhero ever (besides scarlet spider.) sam raimi is a terrible, terrible director. somebody, please stop him from directing the next one. he is god awful.
I agree, I mean did they really have to throw that in there? I personally am not a big fan of Kirsten Dunst so that line kind of killed it for me. Although, I am a huge fan of Tobey Maguire and I thought he made the movie phenominal.
i agree, toby is a great actor and plays spiderman very well. however, i still do like kirten dunst, but i did think they made her character preeetty fuckin cheesy. the scene in the park where she's running to peter's apartment at the end?? come ooooon!!! total cheese ball scene!!! she even had the cheesy, shit-eating grin on her face.
I didn't think Doc Oc was as good an actor as the Green Goblin...like when he's saying "voices..in my head..la de da de da"....that was gay. But it was a kick ass movie nonetheless. Everyone in the movie laughed when spiderman was crowd surfing over that crowd in the bus, lol. i thought it was cool...and they all laughed when him and that chick were chillen on a spider web, lol. that was kinda corny. but i can't wait to see the next one. it's gonna rock as well.
OH, and that scene where Hal Sparks and Toby are talking is real gay. he's like 'yea, it's kinda itchy....and kinda rides up in the crotch"....it was so weird.
I loved this movie! I liked this one much better than the first one. I loved the part when the chinese woman was singing the Spider-Man theme.
This was way better than part one. The villian was better and the focus on the lives of each character was very real, and the way Spidey moved with all those different poses was the way it should be. The setting for some of the fights were awsome too!
I loved this movie, much better than the 1st one. Maybe because I watched the 1st at home, on my PC and in a very bad quality. This kind of movies should be watched in a big screen. Almost all the people in cinema were 11-12 years old boys and I felt kinda weird lol But some scenes of it are very violent and definitely not for children, for example when Dr Oct is on that surgery table, he wakes up and kills all doctors. That was so cruel, even for me. I liked the part with the train very much, for some reason and was laughing so hard in the scene in elevator "Go get 'em tiger" annoyed me too but not very much. For some reason I didn't like when people call him "Spidey" too... I liked that character very much too! Especially the part when he fires Peter and than "unfires" him lol Or at the wedding when he realises that M.J. isn't comming and calls the caterer
i didnt really mind the whole "tiger" line. but that could be cause right before she said that someone in the theatre yelled out "SKEET SKEET!" funniest part of the movie.
