Everyone raved about The Others but the only real excitement in the movie was contained in the last 15 minutes. It was mostly just an uptight Nicole Kidman screaming for 2 hours. I love The Godfather and it's regarded as a classic, but it really is such a slow movie. Some of the scenes seem unnessecary and serve no purpose. Why do we need the sluggish pace? There's SO many more movies that are called 'classics' or that every audience and critic drools over, but just seem really, really overrated. Titanic, Blow, Eternal Sunshine, Blair Witch Project, etc. I'm not saying they are bad, just overrated. What movies would you all add to the overrated list?
i dunno that they're overrated. it's just that the larger number of people that like a movie, the more hype it's going to get. people start to think it's going to be amazing and then they are let down. And sometimes slower is better. Some movies wouldn't be what they are if they had more action sequences or were faster-paced.
no way in hell that is overrated but yes, Godfather is definently a lil', Godfather Pt. 2 is better Napolean Dynamite is the most fuckin' overrated movie EVER it is soooo terrible uhh... most movies that come out nowadays... I cna't think too much right now Collateral that was bad
uhh it was planned as a trilogy... your arguement is invalid Terminator 1 & 3 The Hulk Superman series
ya I never liked The Godfather trilogy, or Star Wars, or Lord of the Rings, or Scarface, or any of those indie movies(garden state, eternal sunshine, etc...) that everyone raves about.
I thought Eternal Sunshine was beautiful, Garden State was ok. I really liked Lord of the Rings though, but probably because I look like a dwarf.
why is it invalid? so what if it was planned as trilogy, it doesnt mean the second two are definatley as good does it
it's not that it's even overrated, it's because stupid people dont understand it AT ALL, they just watch it and are like "man, this tripping is like SOOO crazy, i love this movie" if u actually understand everything in it, it's far from overrated, hardly anyone knows about the movie when u really think about it
