SurfHipE- I guess I would say my dad is more then my mom. My dad and I want to be part of the rainbow family, too bad we didn't go to the gathering this year! My dad was such a hippie back in his day. I have pictures and boy are they awesome! It's funny cuz he looks like the Fonz! He digs the type of music I listen too, (old jam bands and such and reggae.) My mom will occasionally dress hippie like. My aunt and uncle who live locally totally are. My parents let me have a Rastafari B-day Party this year, and my mom personally watched me lite up. It was cool. They are real nice like that. My dad's problem is because he has ashma, he tends to puke when he lites up a j.

Speaking of puking,....yesterday, I totally puked my guts out! It was gnarly man! See, the thing was, I took some pain killers because I had major back pain: I'm talking, like pregnant back pain, (even though I'm not,... ) I forgot to eat as soon as I took them; bad idea! Anywho,....it was sick. I think I won't do that again. I'll just releave myself with some herb.

I just go to the forest preserves a lot, theres a hawk there that always follows me. so im trying to get him to land on my arm. i once saw huge shrooms there too but i think they were poisonous

haha I totally wish I could! I went to San Fran a few years ago, it was sooo beautiful. The only thing I didn't see was the Haight cuz I wasn't really into this stuff back then, that's the only thing I regret!

Who else dances in meadows, listens to the dead, and just gets to be who they want to be. I mean.. I didn't dance in a meadow though I think I was dancing around with an electric hedgetrimmer at work today while trimming a boxwood... oh, and I listened to the dead, neil young, and guns n roses with my dad... who else... ahh, blues traveler... and that is who I am. I don't care who I am because I know wherever I am, I'm me... I don't care if I'm a hippy or if I'm not. I just like having a bit of freedom in my life where I can have a bit of insanity on call when I need it.

Who dances in a meadow?....Well, an idiot.
Listens to the dead?....A lot of people listen to them. You DON'T have to be a hippie to enjoy thier music.
Just gets to be who they want to be?....Anyone. You don't have to hug trees and eat flowers to be who you want to be.

 

I was wondering... what's the point of dancing in a meadow anyway? I live near a cow pasture and an empty field but I sure as hell wouldn't wanna dance in them. Even if I did wanna dance, why go outside and walk around on rough grass having bees sting my legs just so I can say to myself "ahh it's so great to be a hippy! heehee!"?

 

Edward, dancing in a meadow is more about having a passion for nature than wanting to get stung by bees. I mean, things happen, it doesn't mean you need to live a sheltered life. I play in meadows and fields all the time, I guess it just brings me to a state of serinity to have that type of peace. I think maybe you should try it sometime.

 

i was walking through a big field by my house earlier today, and i thought "wow wouldnt it be cool if a bunch of flowerchildren my age played in these fields at nite and camped under the stars, every single nite." now that would be cool, but no, noone my age lives near me, except the gas huffing hicks

 

Yeah...dancing in meadows doesn't make you a hippie, or doesn't mean you have to be a hippie to do it, it's just...a feeling you get. So, okay I guess not everyone get's these feelings, but I know I do, and it makes me happy, so I do it. Simple as that. No, listening to the Dead doesn't make you a hippie, hugging trees doesn't make you a hippie, dancing in meadows doesnt make you a hippie, but it sure makes you damn close to one.


LoL, yeah, I know I've gone in a meadow many a time and wished there were other flower children around me, it's sad, sometimes.

Oh, MoonFlower, you say that dancing in fields in idiotic... and doesn't make you a hippie, well, your not a hippie, I saw your pic, your a goth, I think (which is way cool too) so I guess you couldn't appreciate it as much, but hey, more power to you, you have your own things.
