coments on rised beds

I have been growing, experementing and learning for 1 1/2 yers now. Up till know I have been in 5 gallon pots. For my situation it was a pain in the ass luging dirt up and down a rodent hole. In my buro I am able to grow a total of 80 flowering plants and 80 small veg. plants, that is tite. Now I put in a rased bed with concreat block 3 corses high with a plastic platform on the floor and filter fabric over that, filled the rest with a biofungal soiles mix from a green house supply co. I can now do 90 plants with more room to move. I hope with larger root structure my plants will yeald a hevyer crop. Does aney one have a good sorse for soil heaters. I have roof cables know but they keep poping my breaker and I dont know why? If aney one is growing like me I would like feed back that might help me be more sucsesfull. P.S. I have Jorges book and I have learned alot from it but it has some holes for my situation. Thanks to every one on this site. UNLESS you are feds/DEA

 

Yeah im using raised beds on a wood floor in my trailer. I find they do give enough soil to allow growth the way i like it. Mine are raised from the floor 2" with no insulation under them just air.
From the sounds of your rabbit warren it's a bit too cold down there .
Did you put any foam or insulating material besides the plastic? Is it just sheet plastic on a concrete floor in the basement? If you do, you should use foam first- then plastic maybe.
The advantage to rased beds is to get the planter off of a cold floor., I think you may have defeated yourself there already.
I found a 1ftx1ft x2 foot long container was best for me. Mean suggested 10 gallon rubbermaids and I just got 4 today. My planterbeds were 4 and 5 foot long and just too hard to move around in there. The tubs should be perfect(but i may need to raise them! L.O.L.) and i can fit three or four of them in my tiny veg closet!
Funny you mention theDEA they been watching me fairly hard lately, fucking rat ass homeowner acc. called them up about my garden because the sheriff was ignoring them when they called him.Now they follow whenever i leave with someone else, and do drive by's on my house.
Im med status so they can kiss my ass , it just sucks people are narrow minded and witch burners.

 

hay 420, yeah I am raised up off the floor 2" with a plastic planters table top. It is graded so I can do a flushes if i want. I have good drainage. I didnt want to have a mud pit. But one thing is that I am up against a concreat wall. So next round I'll put in the insulation on the walls, I also have roof heating cables to heat the bed if need be. I just turned them on last night so we'll see if it beought my temp up in the soil. How do you deal with nutriance build up. also what is your soil?

P.S. If the DEA is waching you does that mean I have been flaged? Do they moniter ths site? (probobly)
