Leane woke up this morning fairly normal, but with in a couple minutes, she had really red bumpy cheeks. I put some baby oil on it cuz it was so dry and she had cradle cap spreading down from her head. It's only on her cheeks, and it's really freaking me out. Usually she has really soft, smooth skin that's normally colored. Once and a while she would get this on the side of her face that she was sleeping on, but we think that was because she's allergic to the laundry detergent that we were using...but it's never been anything like this, and never on both sides. Anyone know what this could be?
Ugh, the only thing that comes to mind would be baby acne, but I don;t think it shows up so fast. I would hesitate to but oil on any rash, because it may not let the skin breath ya know. You could try a bit of diaper rash cream though. That stuff has cleared up any rash I've put it on.
It is probably baby acne, like colorfulhippie suggested. Just keep her face clean with mild soap-or just water. DONT pick at the pimples. Another thing, is it could be where she drools at night while she sleeps and creating a little rash.
actually, I was talking to a mom who has a 6 month old today, and I showed her what I was talking about and she said that it's a heat rash. Which makes perfect sence! SO I guess that question is answered.....
it sounded like heat rash to me too. my daughter use to break out every once in a while when she was an infant. she has such sensative skin. my doc told me to put some powder in my hand and dab on the rash on her face. it would go away so quick. just my 2 cents
