I love being in my room, blazin' it to Bach or Beethoven. Beethoven is my favorite composer. I want to make classical music but I don't think I am good enough to do that with a cheap keyboard. I hate that commercial on TV of that girl who plays guitar and starts talking about whenever she gets a tune in her head she has to record it or *POOF* it's gone! brown on my chest. woot woot! XBOX 360. Gonna get it as soon as i can. Woot woot. gonna get that core system for me. gonna get call of duty 2 PDZ etc etc! Battlefield 2! Muda fuckas!
the best thing is to try and listen to each instrument seperately. especially in epic sized symphonies. did this on acid. blew my mind. who cares if you have a cheap keyboard. as long as it sounds cool to you, nothing else matters.
Easy. Write it out and get other musicians to perform it for you. Oh and the POOF it's gone thing is very true. I often get ideas in my head whilst walking home or waiting at the bus stop and if I don't get to write them down they will disappear quickly.
Yeah, but isn't it shitty when your intimate thoughts and stuff are marketted back to you for a fast buck?
Just create. Don't let thoughts about what's going to happen AFTER you compose interfere. Who's going to listen? What am I going to do with it? Will they like it? Will it meet my expectations? Who's going to play it? How so? Will I have all the recording logistics at my disposal? Will I become rich and famous? Will I go down in history as a great composer or will they laugh at me with pointing fingers and spastic bellies??? One thing about it: the process of composition at this point should be your sole reward. Good luck!
