I just have to wonder what our kids will do to totally freak us out. Perhaps the lip stretching popular in many African tribes...??

haha, hopefully it's time that hit mainstream, lol. I am starting to see more people stretching their nostril piercings which used to be super rare (atleast rare to me)

i still dont understand what the point of piecrcing somerthing like that would be. I mean i understand ears (i'd like to get one of mine done actually) i can sorta understand the nose and eyes (and by sorta i mean not at all) but why where no one can see it, what purpose does it serve?

I think having a vertical piercing would add more to the great feelings since the (if you have a bar with a ball on each end) ball would right on your clit. I wouldn't do your actual clit though because I've heard that if you hit certain nerves than you can screw things up and make it so you can never orgasm again.

I'm glad you said it so I wouldn't have to say it. Again. Oh and BLAH, I never said it would be pain free. I said that it didn't hurt as much as one would think.

i dont know how you have sex, but usually my partner sees my twat when we're naked together. No piercings serve a purpose, (except for those freaks who pull transport trucks with their nipple rings) they just look cool.

So, your ear peircings sure a purpose?
I actually think that the exact opposite is true. A clit peircing serves a purpose of providing pleasure, same with tongue, nipple, and male genital peircings. Not only do they look good, the feel good too.

toung piercing is illegal in the UK for sevral reasons. the first & main reason is veigns & arterys in the tounge. there is the centeral artery that runs through the centre of the tounge which isnt visable like the veigns. if that artery is pierced then there is nothing you can do to stop it bleeding & the person will bleed to death. this has happerend to many people in the UK which is why the govenment made it illegal last year. the other reason, anyone wishing to become a piercer outside of london dosent have to have a licence, anyone can become a piercer which is a huge risk, esp where Health & saftey is concerned. what did the cop say to you.....?
hehe, you made me gigle. sea salt & water is saline solution, its just that saline sol that you buy is made from purifide water & has the correct amount of salt to water for the human body (0.09%) where as sea salt water you make at home most people add too much salt which causes the piercing to become dry more prone it infection.

The hood piercing is more of a pinch than a pain-but it is a pinch in a place that generally feels no pinching...so it is a bit startling. I personally jumped a bit and screamed FUCK loud enough for the rest of the studio to hear....then it dawned on me that it wasnt that bad at all. The only other piercing that hurt less (out of 12) was my tongue.

I don't think that piercings serve a literal purpose, but more of a spiritual purpose. I know that I can tell you exactly how my life was when I recieved each of my mods-the process is very cathartic in a sense-a release I guess you could say.

That thing about the tongue artery causing someone to bleed to death sounds like a load of shit. Nothing you can do to stop it? How about "clotting factors in your own blood"? "This has happerend (sic) to many people in the UK"? How many? What source are you citing for statistics?

The reason I ask is that from what I know of the British government, it LOVES to forbid the British subjects from doing all kinds of things. Brits live at the pleasure of their government, which doles out rights (or doesn't) as it sees fit.

You say that they made the tongue piercings illegal because there was no license required and anyone could become a piercer. Um, why didn't they just establish a licensing procedure and test, and you'd have proper, knowledgeable, licensed piercers and then people COULD get their tongues pierced?!

    Torz,
This is one site I found that talks about the dangers of tongue piercing.

    http://www.canoe.ca/Health0205/20_jones-sun.html

Notice that the biggest problem they found is that of INFECTION, which could happen with ANY piercing, or with ANY tattoo. The story of the girl who collapsed from blood loss had to do with the fact that she CONCEALED how much she had been bleeding, for several hours, because she wanted to go to a party!

I think that if anyone should believe your story about "many people bleeding to death" from tongue-piercings-gone-wrong, they ought not do so until you have substantiated your wild claim.

This site is the BBC, and once again, NO MENTION OF ANYONE BLEEDING TO DEATH FROM A TONGUE PIERCING. A lot of scare tactics about swelling, tooth chipping (oooh, life-threatening tooth chippage!) and airway obstruction. One guy's site, which I found on google (the guy's writing was fraught with absurd typographical errors, leading me to believe he's an idiot and not to be believed in general) said that epithelial (skin) cells are driven into the tongue muscle and are stuck there for life (I'm not sure if that's true or not) and could become cancer years later! Why would the BBC and other sites not mention this health threat, if it were true?

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/399218.stm

I also have not turned up any article anywhere that says someone died from uncontrolled bleeding following a tongue piercing. YOU made the claim. Are you going to back it up?

I'm just saying that Torz ought to get her facts straight before posting as though she's knowledgeable about this.

And by the way, Torz, your schools and teachers appear to have failed you big-time... Your spelling, punctuation and grammar are atrocious.

    toung
    tounge

    Neither is correct. Try "tongue."

    "Arterys"? Try "arteries."
    "Veigns"? Try "veins."

I'm not pointing this out to be mean. I'm trying to make it clear that you are not worthy of being viewed as an authority on this subject, or on any other subject that you can't spell properly, come to think of it.

Try telling that to some of the top research scientists etc, a few of whom happen to suffer from various degrees of Dyslexia... Plus Americans do spell some words differently than the other English speaking countries... but not that many...

But having said all that... nope... I can't find any documentation to back up Torz's claims either... :&

Await with baited breath for such evidence to surface...

I have to agree with Jeffrey...

the Dictionary and SpellCheck go a long way! And not just here... but everywhere in life. Get in the habit of using those things, and pretty soon you won't even need them! (Cases of Dyslexia aside of course.) You'll actually learn to spell the word correctly the first time!

At the very least you might start noticing a pattern... like words that end in "Y" often become "ies" when pluralized... Etc.

I'm not saying everyone should be able to spell perfectly all the time (we all make mistakes, especially if in a hurry), but at least make an effort!

First of all, the cop said that he hadn't seen anyone with their tongue pierced.

Second, saline has added preservatives in it to increase its shelf life. Sea salt is a whole lot more pure than saline. As to the mixture, any good piercing parlour should give an acurate recipe for your sea salt to prevent infection. If they can't give you a recipe, they aren't worth your time or money.
