Well I am finally at the end of my 5/8" taper! Woo, I am super excited. Here's a picture from when I wasn't quite at the end of the taper.

I went to put in a pair of plugs I just bought ( http://i11.ebayimg.com/04/i/04/80/02/2d_1_b.JPG ) but I couldn't get the back of the hole through. I am certain they are the right size and the front part of my lobe goes through but not the back. Why might this be??
I also noticed that there is a ring of skin around the back of my stretched lobe. What is this from and is it what is preventing me from getting my plugs on?
Any advice would be appreciated and tips for getting my plugs on.

how long have the taper in? i would keep it in for like 3 or 4 weeks before putting plugs in that way your ear will streach all the way and not shrink up when you take the taper out, also when you gauge you should alternate putting the taper in from the front of your ear then next time the back, that way the ring of skin doesnt form, that happend with my left ear and when i went to put in a plug riped the ring of skin off which realy sucked. that looks realy nice what gauge is it for i dont know know how the inche thingy goes only gauge ahaha

the ring around your lobe probably is a keloid, or a blow out... happens when you gauge to fast, or even if you have sensitive skin. Chances are it will ge tbigger and the best way to deal with it is to rub vitamine E lotions on it.

Also you might want to try putting the new pretty plugs in the other way. Meaning if you were going from the back of your ear pushing them in, push them in from the front of your ear. Considering this is the way they were stretched.

More than likely the reason you can't get those plugs in, are because they're double flared!

No they're not. I don't buy double flared jewlery. Those are threaded.

Yeah I know what a keloid is and it's not that. I think it's a blowout. I've been putting teatree oil on it and I switched the tapers around. How long until it's better do you think?
    Thanks for the advice:)
