Okay, so i'm on the pill, but its the low hormone pill, Microgestin Fe 1/20 to be exact, and im not sure if because its low hormones means that it isn't as good at protecting against pregnancy.... and well i was just curious if anyone else knew anything about it, or low hormone pills in general... any help would be GREATLY apperciated
low dose hormones are practically just as effective as the regular dose pills... I think the difference is about a half a percentage point. Not enough to worry about. If you are genuinely worried, use condoms as well - the pill doesn't protect at all against STD's, and condoms do help protect. Low hormone pills are usually used if a woman has a bad reaction to the regular dose ones, ie gets chronic yeast infections, is exceptionally moody, but not a bad enough reaction to have to stop hormonal birth control completely
