I want to expand my music collection by listening to some new artists. I already know some of The Byrds' songs, like Turn Turn Turn and Eight Miles High, but I need some more good songs. So if anyone can point out some of their good stuff, i'd really appreciate it.

put it this way, once you've heard turn turn turn...pretty much every other byrds song sounds exactly the same

so just listen to that one

this will probally piss off any deserning hip person

but the byrds are shit and represent the worst kind of filth from that decade, when you look at the wealth of music available, the mind boggles why their own brand of harmonised twaggy guitar "folk-rock" sounds with pleasent enough sentiment got remembered for anything else than it was, which was rubbish.

get some led zeppelin and rock out

but if you really like the byrds...fair enough :p

It Depends what it's your best byrds style ...the byrds had played

    folk (2nd album)
country-folk (with Gram Parsons in late 68)
country rock (some of their songs in late 60's and early 70's)
psychedelic folk (2nd and 3rd album)
    pop folk (1st album)

and some songs are even near of early form of punk rock ("Tribal Gathering" of 68) or psychedelic Hard Rock (This Wheel's On Fire)

But even if i love all their style i recommend more their psychedelic folk/rock or pop album (3 albums) from Fifth Dimension to Notorious Byrds Brothers...

    some interesting songs:

"Child Of the Universe" & "Candy" (69)...

oh damn shit i've got to leave my hour is over ...i'm connected in a Cyber Cafe...
i will post another one tomorrow...

    so

-"C.T.A " & "Why"(fifth dimension LP version) are quite alien and spacy
    -"Renaissance Fair"
    -"Lady Friend"
-" I Come & Stand At Every Door" is very deep and melancholic...it makes u remember that war is the product of human real madness
"Goin' Back" is a bit melancholic too with those magic sound & it spoke of childhood nostalgia
"Draft Morning" & "Change is now" makes u travel too
