    Performance -

This movie was made in the late 1960's but its release was delayed until 1970 because there were some issues it touched on that were sensitive politically - The main one being Police connections with organised crime and prosecutions relating to them.

James Fox, Mick Jagger, Anita Pallenberg and Michele Breton star.
There were problems during filming as much of it had not been scripted. Donald Cammell wrote the screenplay and played a major part in every aspect of getting the film made. Cammell had written a biography of Aleister Crowley - The occult theme is very much in evidence though not in a horror flick way.

The sound track is good too. I have watched this movie recently and think it is excellent. If you consider that "Performance" was made at the same time as "Easy Rider" they provide a very broad spectrum view of counter-culture at a time of massive social change - more importantly it's great viewing.

It was panned by the critics at the time, many of whom missed the point I suspect.

I really like it! Mick Jagger was quite good, I think. It was positive surprise.
