you know how they're culling birds that have avian flu.why not a survival adventure story about humans being culled and how they have to run and hide because they have a virus.
That sound like an excellent idea. It's topical and it concerns everyone. You should try it out. What style would you suggest?
That would be very interesting. Scifi or documentary novel would be the obvious choices for style. You could also look into other vaguly related issues (the bubonic plague, Logans run etc) and see if they help.
You can also think how the story will be narrated. Lots of possibilities. You could use the traditional style, straightforward story, i.e. the writer tells the story, or you could have one of the survivors narrating it, like 'War of the Worlds'. You might even use a series of computer logs, where no one's survived and everything has been documented by a computer. Or even by a visiting alien race that finds everything destroyed.
Oh, btw--it reminds me somewhat if Clay's Ark by Octavia Bulter where a group of humans go into hiding because they have an alien virus. That's a cool, but rather depressing, book.
theres a film in england called 28 days later...it's about chimps being infected with 'rage' a disease and it spread to the humans... its a really good film actually. anyway...the ones who arent infected obviously have to run, and all that malarky. its a brilliant idea by the way...

i had a sweet idea last night... write one about the nuclear power stations getting blown up by terrorists... i cant belive no-ones done that yet
I still think the idea of the victims having to hide from the government to avoid being culled or something is a new twist--but in any story the execution is everything
