John 20:29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
Yes that would be nice if everyone just believed without seeing... However, keep in mind that we live in a world that demands proof... Faith comes by hearing; hearing the word of God.
Dont act like im effin stupid. You made the comment about christianity not being blind faith, im just showing you that youre wrong. Jesus Himself said it was beter to blindly believe than to ask for proof first.
Ok. Clarify for me then. You've said you don't believe in the 4.6 billion years of the geologic time scale, and you don't think elk walked the earth 13 mya, so just how old do you think it is, and what are you basing your belief on?
You are wrong (sinning) campbell. God has made all these faiths to teach different people about God. If you can't see this essential truth, you are blind to God's true love for God's creation. It does not, it requires constant communion with God (at the higher levels) as does Christianity. This means knowing communion- which you lack because you do not know that God cares for all beings in individual ways. God's awareness is focused upon every single one of God's creations, planning their steps to lead them into knowledge of God. Eventually, when you know you are with God, you will know how much God cares for each individual soul, and that God has a specific plan for each soul in God's care. God is love, God would not lead any soul into permanent ignorance. If Hindus followed your blind teachings that ignore God's love flowing through all things, they would fall into the pit with you. Believing in the truth does feel good. You ignore God's love for all creatures when you act like the faiths God has created for them are wrong.
Blind faith ignores God's actions in the whole of creation- Those with blind faith: see, but do not percieve; hear, but do not understand. One with blind faith does not percieve God's love in everything that happens.
Listen to the soul. The wanting to know can create stress, remain with integrity. Learn to say "I do not know" and "Lord, I ask for the answer." .
Regarding #1: Campbell..OK...if "saying Hinduism has truth on a personal level is no proof ", then how can you defend your many previous claims that your personal experiences with God validate his existence? That's principally what you based your arguments with Libertine on...your extra-sensory spiritual perceptions and perceived interventions of God in the events of your life. Why couldn't those same experiences, had by a Hindu, be just as much proof of God's existence? I'll propose a question to you: A Bible-believing Christian has an experience of God as a burning bush that talks to him. A Hindu yogi has an experience of God as a burning bush that talks to him. The burning bush says exactly the same words to both men: "I am your eternal father and will be with you always". Whose experience was valid, whose wasn't, and why? Please don't tell me it was Satan talking to the Hindu, or that the Hindu's experience was invalid because he wasn't a Christian...those answers don't fly at all. Regarding #2: I didn't deny outright that there are Biblical prophecies that have been fullfilled...in fact, I've found yours and JDFU's accounts of OT prophecies about Christ to be very interesting. All I said was that the East Gate Prophecy has not been completely fulfilled, therefore it is not presently 100% true, and arguably coincidental and 0% true until it comes completely to pass...until the final numerical factor is in an equation, it remains unsolved and not true. You've contradicted yourself...you say that only God knows the future, and yet spend a good part of your life apparently trying to prove to others on this forum that you know it as well as God does. Why do you say that I'm not interested in a God of truth? Once again, you're making an error in logic...I question Christianity and the Bible, and propose to you that there is verifiable truth in another faith, so I therefore cannot be interested in truth. ???
No that is not blind faith, because faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. The Word of God does not lead you into blind faith, for the Bible has the fulfilled prophecies that are the evidence of that faith. Where as other religions have there books of faith, yet offer no proof of prophecies that would verify that faith. Where there is no proof, there is blind faith.
Yes blessed are those who have not seen Christ but still believe. And I am one of those who have not seen Christ, yet I believe. Nor do I have blind faith either, for my faith is based on a Book of fulfilled prophecies that has withstood the test of time, and can be verified to be both true and accurate. Other faiths or religions do not have this kind of observable truth. There are religions that tell you to believe in them based only on the words of their books, and these words cannot be verfied, and they have no prophecies that can be pointed to. This is what is ment by blind faith. To believe in something with out any existing proof that their religion is creditable. The Bible does not fall into this category.
God is not the author of confusion, if I tried to follow all these different faiths I would be confused. God has one truth, and that truth has no counterdiction. God would not lead any soul into permanent ignorance, but the Devil and his little helpers would. You might not believe there is a Devil, but he sure believes in you.
I have no idea how old the earth is. I do believe there was a race of non humans that existed on earth before Adam. I believe they were of higher intelligence then humans, yet evil. In Gen. 1:28 God tells Adam and Eve to go and replenish the earth. Replenish-to fill or make complete again. How long that group was on the earth is anyones guess.
Jesus said it was better to blindly believe than to ask for proof first? Could you give me Book chapter and verse where Jesus said that? The Bible is filled with verifiable proof of God's existance, which means belief in Him cannot be blind. The prophecies of the Bible are the proof of God's truth.
Most people would not believe in Christ unless they first heard of Him. Now where are they going to hear about Jesus? Of course, the Bible. And how are they going to understand who He is unless they read the Bible first? And why do a billion people look to Christ as God? Because He fulfilled the 300 prophecies of the Old Testament. And what do those prophecies count for? PROOF. Did any of those people see Christ? No. But they have seen the prophecies, and believed. Evidence cancels out blind faith. And the problem with other religions is, they donot have this kind of evidence. I became a Christian and have never seen Christ, yet my faith is based on Biblical evidence, not blind faith.
Because He says BLESSED are the people who believe without having seen. I dont know in what world you live, but in mine not seeing means being blind.
Your faith in Christ is blind, since you have no clue what happened 2000 years ago, you have no clue what was left out of the story, and what was added to it. There is no one to explain to you what Jesus precisely meant with His words, or if they even are His words.
They dont look up to Him because He fullfilled prophecies. Most people hardly ever open up a bible, a lot of catholics certainly dont. They believe because thats what they were taught. Its part of their culture, its how they were raised.
I have spoken of my experiences yet always offer an abundance of other more solid Biblical based evidence. I would never base my whole faith on personal experience. Libertine asked my why I personally believe in the Christian Faith, but then told me I could not give a personal reason. As far as the burning bush, the Bible tells you when a spirit speaks you should test the spirits to see if they are from God or not. Both experiences may be valid, but the question should be, who is doing the talking? God or someone else. The Bible tells us that we should not believe every spirit. Would you believe every spirit that talks to you? Well what I believe about the East Gate prophecy is there was a porch built onto the existing Gate, that part of the prophecy is true. And the porch Gate was sealed up with stone that part of the prophecy is true, two attempts to break through the gate have failed, it appears that part of the prophecy may be true as well. If you took that approach with the Bible, there are still a great number of prophecies that have not been fulfilled. Do we then say since a number of the prophecies in the Bible have not been fulfilled, this means the Bible is untrue. I accept what has come to pass, and I believe that the rest are true based on the accuracy that has already been demonstrated. You say I counterdict myself when I say only God knows the future, and then I spend time telling people that I know it as well as God does. WOW. Where do you think I get my information from? I will tell you. I get it from Gods Word the Bible, that's why God gave us this Book. So we could study it and learn the future for ourselves. Everything I know, I know only because of what God has revealed to me in His Book. And it is because only God knows the future, that the Bible is the only Book that reveals it. I said your not intrested in God's truth based on the fact you appear more into Hinduism, and personal feelings, The Bible offers solid evidence, and you see the prophecies that are being fulfilled in detail, yet, you appear ready to put conditions on these prophecies, where as there appears to be no conditions being placed on your personal feelings. Facts should always be put ahead of feelings, especially when it comes to truth.
