    Hi,

I am planning to come to Amsterdam in January to work for a few months and i'm trying to

    find accomodation.

Ideally, I am looking for a simple, small and cheap bedsit in the Amsterdam area.

I have looked online but all I can find information on is either tourist hotels/hostels, or

the appartments to rent which I have found are for fully furnished expensive places with

tvs/broadband and other luxaries which I am not interested in as I really only want a small

place with a bed/kitchen/bathroom. Thats all.

Can anyone tell me any websites/places which would be good to find this type of

accomodation? I am aiming to try and get somewhere confirmed before I arrive but the way my

search is going, this seems rather difficult.

I really do not have any interest in staying in a shared hostel, or renting a room in a big

house and sharing facilities with others because the last year I had a very bad expeirence

sharing a house with 5 other very messy guys and I want to avoid the same thing happening

    again at all costs.

    thanks

    -Mike

''Bedsit'' for me means a one bedroom appartment usually
ultra small with self contained kitchen or it can also mean
renting a bedroom and living in a shared house/flat with
    the owner or landlord, etc.
Sounds like he's on a budget and can't rent for more than
the minimum 6 months contract for his own place.?

    hi,

thanks for the replies. the bedsit i have in mind is a small one bedroom appartment with the contained kitchen. I really dont want to live in a shared house.

I do intend on working soon after arrival so as long as the rent cost is feasible in comparison to what my earnings will be, that is pretty much my budget as such.

thanks for the links, I will look into them :D

Hi, at present, I have a double room for rent, from Dec 5th,2005 to Jan 31,2006, with necessary bed blanket and mattress, shared bathroom and kitchen, in front of the Sarphatispark, on the Centruubaan street, only takes less than 10 minutes to Dam square by bike ( 3 minutes to Heineken Museum), but you should share this double room with a boy, he is a student in Universiteit Van Amsterdam. you only need to pay 300 EURO for almost two months here. If you are interested in it, send me Email, ricegis@gmail.com

ps,you can also rent this room from middle December to middle january
