Not really sure what genre these would come under so I'll just stick it here.

Anyone else here into an Australian band called The Cat Empire?

    yep, sure am.

I hated them at first - i'm not a fan of that hello hello song, but then I saw them at an orientation gig at the start of this year - despite the fact that no-one in the (NZ) crowd really knew their stuff, they had the whole crowd up and dancing.

i love song like 'sly' and 'reason and rhyme' -such fun to boogie to.

Yay so I'm not the only one :D

They played a surfing festivel here in the summer that my mate went to and he came back with their first album, I've been hooked on it since. Days Like These, Chariot and Bennie are probably my favourites, with The Lost Song ranking pretty high as well

They're pretty good but I want to stab the lead singer.

ho yeah, days Like These is a great song.

and yep, this gig they did just rocked. Usually at orientation people stand around getting drunk on the sidelines and wait for music they know to come on, but Cat Empire had the whole hall just going for it. Everyone was in such a good mood - I so can't wait for ori gigs next year.
