Help with sunflowers

    Hi,

    I grew some sun flowers this summer with my 6yr old daughter. The thing is there still there all withered and droppy!!!!. Now l know l should have collected the seeds about Sept / Oct but l didn't.

    But - the plant is still there. What do l did with it... leave it. Dig it up. Cut it down.

    Have never really been into growing things but now l want start.. anyone any idea on what to do with this v complicated subject!

    (hellianthus annuas) you should have collected the seeds, but if the heads still there, they should still be on there im guessing. chop it down, its an annual plant which means it only lives for one growing season, that time is gone, use it for compost roots and all. put some compost back in the soil around febuary/march and grow new seeds under glass to give them a head start, altough it depends on the weather. any more growing questions fire away :)
