Heya ccn-I've gotten some good mileage out of two I really liked: Greg Green's 'The Cannabis Grow Bible', and Ed Rosenthal's 'MJ Grower's Handbook: The Indoor High Yield Guide'. Each was about $20 US in the local Barnes & Noble garden section. I like to thumb thru both of 'em at idle times, something I missed always shows up. I'd recommend you get at least a couple of books, tho, whatever they are. For example, Green's book has a bit more to say about preflowering than Ed's, and vice versa on other topics, so these two books have complimented each other well in my case.

    Right on HerbalTea.

The best growing tool you can own is a grow book, and 2 are even better.

I think for someone who wants to grow pot successfully, the way to do it would be to read 2 grow books, then cruise cultivation websites BEFORE you drop a seed.

These are the 3 books that every grower should read and understand for success.
As HerbalTea says,Greg Greens is hands down the best all around guide. If ya want to get to know the plant up close and personel,Marijuana Botony is awsome as its his self published thesis from U.C Santa Cruz titled "The Botony and ecology of cannabis".Its a hard read but a world of wisdom there.Hemp Pests and Diseases is a must for identifying probs.

    ISBN# 1-931160-17-1

Marijuana Botony by Robert Connell Clark

Everyone must start at the bottom, its thru research and quality reading as well as pragmatics that enevitably will iron all things out,and I forgot patience.

Ya know, I had that very thought this afternoon, hitting a used book shop...but I had no idea it was such an expensive volume.I hit all of the few major bookstores in this area just to find what I got, and was lucky enough that one of 'em was the C-bus Bible. And piles of downloaded stuff, of course.;)Just lately saw a thread from one of the mods here, coming out with a new grow book done with Cervantes, and think I may be able to get ahold of one :) (been looking for a JC guide, *yahoo*)...Ed R's book was extremely useful for me, 'cause I'm workin' a stealth/cabinet grow, and he gathered alla that useful light data together.
