ok i want to clone one of my plants and i dont no when to do it like do i wait till it matures or what. i dont remember when i put it in but the bud it just starting to turn red a few strands so can i do it now and if so what do i need i no i need rooting hormone. and soil??? anyone know
Ok its not a problem. When you take a cutting have a pint glass of water next to you, get your cutting & cut at a 45 degree angle this will give you more surface area for roots to grow put it in your water for an hour or two. Then get some perlite or vermiulite & mix it with your compost/soil this is good for drainage co's you dont want to over water your clone. Take your cutting & dip it in your hormone powder then place it in your soil. Remember when you take a cutting the more leaf it has the better the chance of survival it has.
Its like small white stones you mix it in with your soil about 60/40, its used to drain your soil if you over water it seeps out the bottom of your pot into your drip tray. You can buy it from any garden store its not expensive
umm i disagree with the technique i prefer no hormones and just seting them in water but once your flowering i would wait until you harvest, just dont kill the plant, leave some leaves on the bottom and revegitate it. then take your clones.
Once you get the hang of it you will no longer have to sex plants & it saves money on seeds, you won't be wasting time with useless males unless you want a seed stock for future use.
just keep them outa direct light i keep them in the grow room, but shaded by the big plants, or some random object. keepin them all in seperate waters reduces molds, and make sure you pour your water a day or two early, or use spring water. i find that the less chemicals in my plants, the better flavor and aroma of the smoke.
Good luck getting 7/10 clones from a fully flowered plant to develope any kind of roots without the assitance of rooting powders or gels.Taking clones late in flower is the absolute worst time for success.
