I'm thinking about trying the armed forces for co-op next year and I was just wondering how hard it is.

Well it's important to first understand that in enterning this co-op you are also entering the Canadian Forces. That means your commitment to the CF goes beyond school, you swear your alegience to the queen and sign your life (literally) over to her. At the end of the co-op you'll be given the option to stay with your regiment or opt out of the forces. But for that semester your ass will belong to the military, period.

If your co-op is the standard, semester length, full time program then you'll be completeing the 10 week Basic Military Qualificiation course (BMQ) and then either your Soldier Qual (SQ) or ocupation specific training. The training methods are intensive, both physically and mentally, your staff will intentionally push you to your limits so that you can learn to operate in high stress situations and react instantly to commands.

I did a 4 credit co-op with the Ontario Regiment a few years back, no longer with the forces, but if you have any more question feel free to ask

A friend of mine did this and she said it was one of the best choices she ever made.
