I need to define these words for history class.words used in the 20s Bee's knees Cement overshoes Cheaters Gatecrasher Jake Lounge lizard Main drag
Gatecrashers-people who go to a party without an invitation or get into the party wihtout paying. Jake-satisfactory Lounge Lizard-a social parasite Main Drag-the main street in a city i dont know the other ones...
Bee's Knees=Cool Cheaters are shoes i believe Main Drag is the main road Gatecrasher is somebody who crashes a party uninvited These all seem fairly obvious
Ahaha. I just had to do something similar. For the 1920's in Canada portion of our unit. The Bee's Knees is "really great". haha Cool would suffice. Cheaters are glasses. As in eye glasses. Like you're using them to cheat and see. Get it? A gatecrasher (oh man I love that Keller Williams song... ) is a party crasher. Or someone who's not wanted. Jake means "okay" like "yeah its goin okay. " "its jake" Lounge Lizards are pretty much just ladie's men, guys who get a lot of action. Main drag is like main street. Or sometimes like.. "the place to be" Not quite sure of cement overshoes... Ahah.. Sorry.
if i had to guess id either say cement overshoes would either be 1) a really bad dancer, like cause they can't move their feet cause they have cement overshoes 2) or somethign to do with the mafia... got this off wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cement_shoes , it is not "overshoes" but yeah
