people keep telling me the Narnia story is Christian based ... i dont see that...in my view it is very pagan.
there is so much more to the story then people seem to think. It is very deep and in my view, it is not made for young children.

  7. lewis came up with aslan 2 minutes after finding god on a double decker bus, his own words, it has the crucifixcion, it has the ressurection, aslan is jesus\god\holy spirit, narnia is christendom

it's not a hard metaphor to see

it could easily go any direction man. just because aslan had somethings in common with jesus does not make it christian. I mean there are stories of that sort all over

  9. ya, know, just because lewis SAID it was jesus, that counts for absolutly nothing

i liked that last paragraph, the part where that even though he loved a god he still more-so respected truth.

yeah, Aslan is a suppositional Christ as Lewis says. He said many times that they aren't allegories [and that you won't find a one to one connection between them and the Bible] but that it goes like this "Supose there was a land of Narnia. What would Christ be like in Narnia? etc" ...wikipedia is a great friend  the stores are more-so just basic themes..Redemption, selvelessness, forgiveness etc.

Lord of the Rings also contained some Catholic elements from Tolkein

whats really cool about Lord of the Rings is that i heard he kinda based the elves on the people of Finland. Or at least thats what i heard. I am mostly Finnish so it was kind of cool to hear

i think that if people who called themselves christians would read both the OT and the NT, only the insane ones would dare to call themselves christians/love "god" afterwards...

it was tolkien that turned lewis onto christianity (although they fell out after Lewis refused to become a total catholic)
