My feet aren't all leathery and gross looking, but they're still tough. Walking on gravel and pavement does help. How long have you been going barefoot? I think it takes a few months for them to get really conditioned to all surfaces. Good luck, though.
I am the same. I'm barefoot all the time, but conditions keep my feet relatively soft -- definitely not calloused and hard. But at the same time, going barefoot on all kinds of surfaces has made me used to them and so my feet are "tough" in the sense that I can take them anywhere without pain or discomfort. (Granted, some hot Florida pavement would be too much.) I wouldn't sweat it. I just let them be what they're gonna be. Actually, I'd rather they were reasonably pleasant to the touch as opposed to all hard and rough. Blue skies, -Jeffrey
These are the soles of my feet .. pretty ingrained there .. and tough too .. i spend basically all of the time barefoot even in winter ecepting when its cold or for protection. wouldnt have it any other way and the looks i get for doing this .. hilarious .. some people are just so visibly shocked! .. nuts.
