In the beginning there was Darkness Into this Darkness forms a void A void deep within your soul-ness A battle between Ego and Id to exploit, And in from the out comes Light Lifting the veil off exposing mystic Self Fear and pain eased like the edge of night I come out to remember how I truly felt, I remember Black Smoke filled the end of Days The crying left to those in my wake And standing among the crowd were the Three Fates Singing their lament that Death is never late, I’m not confused because it’s just beneath my skin Deep inside my soul resides redemption And I no longer linger on the outside looking in For I have conquered my fear of looking at my own reflection.
wow....yeah I liked this one... It's dark, but it's like you're freeing yourself.... from fear...from death.... yeah.... two thumbs up.... ~Trin
Hi Trin, Glad you liked it. Yeah it is a dark piece but it is about finding yourself and realizing that the only thing that holds us back is our own fears, the fear of failure, fear of rejection, fear of death, etc. You can never be truly free until you conquer your fears, and some people just have a harder time coming to grips with that. Well, so much for getting on my soapbox and preaching a little. Take care Trin and I hope to read some more of your stuff. Love, Peace and Happiness, ALI
I love dark poems.. I write too many and I try to write happier ones.. but dark poems always come to mind and I end up putting all my emotion into it and stuff.. I love it though...
