I just checked and I think it's 256, which is interesting I suppose but not exactly portentious.

yeah, the key to that 666 deal is that it's the number six hundred and sixty six, not just three sixes.

But as far as 6 and 7 being man's and god's number, respectively, my previous post still holds true. At least as far as my interpretation goes, I wasn't talking about the 666 number of the beast thing.

Truth is to be found within and all. I think it's funny. Cos that, what you just said, although it is obviously about Christianity, if I had to classify it as a religious thought I would attribute it to buddhism. I am currently reading the bible for the first time (starting with the new testament) and I am finding some of it is very buddhist in appearance, do you know what I mean?

I'm certainly not saying that the buddha was 'better' than Jesus, but maybe his being able to read and write helped him record what he meant, and it was more or less the same as what Jesus meant.

It is good for people in a given community get together at least once a week. There will be fewer strangers that way. However, Churches too often cross the line in asking for money at Church services. Sometimes you have take the good with the bad. Just be sure you are on the side or right.

I do agree with what Dan says, it would be a million times better if the community got together and did something though ay? Like cook a great big meal for everyone or something, whilst listening to music and chatting about politics, or whatever. Everyone's got to eat. Church as free restaurant, free to contribute food, free to work there and free to eat and socialise.

'The church is nothing', yeah, absolutely. Choosing a church, faith, whatever, is putting up walls. Non-denominational would be agnostic, no? Or do they only accept wisdom if its provenance is the bible.
