This isn't really a gay-oriented topic, but has anyone heard of College of the Atlantic in Maine? I really like it so far, and hope to go there. However, I still have my doubts...I really want to know what it's like in terms of student life. I have a decent grasp, but not a good grasp and I want to know what the school is REALLY like before I officially make a decision. Anyone know anything about it in terms of the people??
I was looking at the University of New England on the coast of maine. My friend is applying there, and said when he visited, the area seemed really chill and filled with good people. I assume you're going to be getting some open minded people up there....more so than other areas of the US. The weather might be in an issue for you, as well. I'm in delaware, so the weather wouldn't be that much colder in maine, but it would be a difference...
also....UNE was something like 77% women. It has about 1,500 students. College of the Atlantic is 71% women...and there are only 262 students.
262.... thats just ridiculous. How can they even stay open. I mean i couldnt o to a university where i knew everybody there. There r like 20,000 at Ole Miss.
Wow that's really cool. I haven't heard of College of the Atlantic, but I live in Maine, and have for all my life. BassistReid, is University of New England that you're talking about in Portland? If so, I know exactly where that is. I've sung there before with my chorus.
That's really cool. Interesting little fact... the street that the Portland campus is on, Stevens Ave, is the only street in the entire country where you can start in pre-school and graduate from college all on the same street. So yep, there's a pre-school, elementary, middle, high school, and college all on that street. Pretty crazy - lots of speed bumps.
