Come on, of course it was real journalism..
It was only the fact he was left to his own devices and the fact that it was not looked at for credibility or proffesionalim [or for that matter accuracy] etc till after No. 10 'kicked off' proves he was not the only one who fucked up.

I had never heard of him before the today programme is on way to early for me.

When these 'little' ones result in a death and a huge enquirey and resignations left right and way up high.. i might agree.

 

so what you're saying a little bit of spin never hurt no one?

I'm sure given the time and resources I could find cases where media spin is directly responsible for killing people

as for huge enquiries, why would things that happen all the time be investigated?

we prefer to investigate big things that will help our poll numbers...

occasionally an actual wrong will be investigated, but only when someone thinks they're getting screwed badly.....

 

It just makes me sick..i obviously do do this 'wonderful excercise' a little whatever thats adds up to .. It is only the agreement or disagreement of others like yourself that gives anything i say any merit or not.. If we could fathom out what was going on in these peoples heads more chrystalined than what is speculated by commentators being payed vast somes of money..then heck we would be earning vast somes of money.. and we would be on the news circuit like the handful that go around news rooms day after day...

I just let everything that comes my way wash over me and try and make sense..i don't think i am being manipulated or anything like that..but i dunno i guess we all just take on board what we wish and forget what we can't really fathom or does not fit in to our POV..

in the U.S. our most conservative news outlet and one of our more liberal ones are owned by the same company, I don't doubt you have similar there, spin is wrong, innacurate stories are wrong

you shouldn't place a story until you have phyiscal evidence thay can't be misenterpreted, that's the problem today, journalists stopped being objecrive observers somewhere and started being humanitarian crusaders....

they started being people to tell us what we should believe and what the wrongs were with the world

a real journalist is a completly objective observer, someone who only reports truth, doesn't frame things in spin, if they interview one person, they have to interview someone on the other side with equal skill, when people decided to turn news into their pulpit that was one of the worst things ever to occur in human history....

He clearly seems to not have reported the truth or the facts on certain occasions..

It is easy for you to take him at his word..because this is what you wish to believe.. i was only dubious because of the DU claim he made.. so that is what i mentioned. Then i find out he has been economical or has been using 'poetic licence' with the events he is supposedly to have taken a part in.

So i decieded not to mention anything about the 'innocent civilians' .. because i did not no what was truth or not.. of course any innocent civillian deaths are horrid.. i think [i hope] everybody in this thread can agree with that..thats not always the point though.

Do i have to mention every time i have great sympathy for those innocent people that get caught up in all of this [i have said that many times before] .. Should i just make a sweeping statements like ''US government crimes against humanity'' .. i don't think i should.. Should i just believe everything that is put in front of me ..because it is conveniant to my POV .. NO..

my grandpa used to mine uranium and kept some chunks of it under the family t.v. he died of heart disease in his 70's

to the doubters: during the viet nam war so many people didn't really want to look at the facts either. 58,000 soldiers died in that war, i don't think the civilian deaths were ever estimated. so many people want to just hide their heads in the sand and act like it's not happening, that innocent children, women and other's are being killed daily in this unjust war in iraq.
