I have a little dog (thats him on the pic btw) and he's my first pet, so i'm new at all that. I read some books about dogs: how to raise them and stuff, but still, not everything is going as it should (of course). I think he drinks more water than normal. So..my question would be: how much is normal?
Right correst me if im wrong but the problem you seem to be having is your dog drinks to much water? If so there are loads of reasons why dogs seem to be drinking alot of water for example the weather whats it like where you are from? if its hot then your dog will drink more just like you need to. If its cold but you have your heating on and YOU get hot, it will be even more hotter for your dog - think of the big coat they have to wear!! You have quite a small dog so depending on the situation and and size of the water bowl will depend on how much you have to 'top it up' I have a spaniel and he drinks quite alot but he is on steriods, if your worried about your dog take him to the vat and explain and they can do a simple blood test and check his liver.
I don't really know much about Croatia but i am assuming you are in winter now? Wiggy is right climate could have something to do with it, but how much are you saying is a lot of water?
Thanks for the advice...i don't think somethings really wrong with him...i'm not even sure i'm right- maybe he does drink as much as he should (as i said, i'm new at all this)..and i think u might be right about the heating...
Good - if you think about it like this - when you are hot sitting there what must he be like with a huge coat on and playing with toys? There loads of things people pick up along the way - good luck and have fun xxx
some breeds are prone to drinking more than others.....just like with cats....maine coons typically drink LOTS of water....mine does. i mean, the dog knows what he needs....if he needs water he will drink and if he doesnt then he wont. like someone else said, maybe your heater is too much on him? i stay cold all the time so i like to have the heat on high but i know its too much for my dogs so instead i put it on to a temp that suits them and i just wear an extra sweater or something.
