    A Stranger's End

    I never felt.

    Your warm embrace

    Beyond Goodbye

    Beyond Hello

    I never heard

    Your soothing voice

Not piped in from miles away.

    Not interrupted by static

    You never knew

    The deafening silence

    The piercing agony

    The quiet screaming.

    Then tell me why?

    Why are you surprised?

    Surprised that I moved on?

    Surprised that I found another?

    You left a hole.

    I filled it.

    You caused me pain.

    I soothed it.

    You demand an explanation.

    I stare stoically.

    You promise to change.

Your words go up in smoke.

    I feel no guilt.

    For you are not there.

    I have no regret.

    For you are a ghost.
