Hey everyone. It's winter in about a week, but it's already cold. Are you staying warm? Do you have limited income and are having a hard time paying your home heating bills? There is a Federally funded program to assist low income households. It's called HEAP The Home Energy Assistance Program. You can get info on the program here. The program will be administered by the States, so check it out for details about your states program, and make sure you and/or the kiddies stay warm.

Ty. I wish I could use it. I had tofile a chapter13 bankruptcy to sve my house and now I have to appear solvent even if I'm not otherwise they will figure I'm unable to repay and pull the ch.13 and go back into foreclosure. Its a financial Catch-22, lol.

Went down and jumped on the heap.

Larry cannot pass the physical for his CDL to drive the dumptruck anymore so the Ebay thing is our only income..that and a few commisions I pick up along the way.

I called them awhile back and the woman was soooo nice.
She said on a local level they will pay our electric bill up to 175.00
Then our application goes to Columbus and we will get a 250.00 voucher for fuel or wood...we heat with wood.

There were so many years that Larry would get laid off for the winter and we never applied for food stamps or heap or anything. So I have no qualms whatsoever...not to mention that they say by the time I get to 65 my money I've paid into Social Security will not be there...

gdhmom...if a family of 2 in ohio makes less than 1390.00 a month they are eligible....I would check in your state.
All we had to show was ID, social security cards and income from the last 13 weeks.
I provided my ebay sales reports...they approved us in about 10 minutes....
