If you have, did the person give you his name (don't tell me the name spoken as it is meant only for your knowledge) and did he or she tell you the dream animal?

In my case, I was told that I should drop being a Beaver ("Busy as a beaver") and become the Otter, ever playfull.

No, I'm not a Native American. I became interested in Native American folklore and beliefs on my first visit to Sedona, AZ.

My Spirit Guide is a man, who came to my dream and told me that if I ever have problems, that instead of screaming out in freight, I should call his name and he'll come to help me.

I was told that my animaltotem was the White Wolf, so I carry white wolf hair in my wallet.

The animal totems revealed themselves to me after buying a book on animal guides. Since then I have come to realise, through synchronicity, that whenever I dream, see, read the word on a truck or road sign, that it means that I will soon be meeting a woman.

How do you recognise a dream guide?

I have been told I have had them in my dreams...but I would'nt have known it otherwise.

...mine gave me a hug, like old friends.

Good fortune with your encounter white feather.:)

Some can introduce themselves. Others you just know because they walk with you and speak to you in plain spiritual language. Some you have to ascertain (like Mau'dib in "Dune" (movie)).

But dream state spiritual guides are a little different from finding one's American Indian totem animal, although they can cross over to the dream world. In my case it came about after reading "The Secret Language of Waking Dreams," by Mike Avery. (Highly recommended.) For animal totems I recommend "Animal-Speak" by Ted Andrews. I'd probably look for it at the local library or the used book shoppe.

I met a fox that told me it was my spirit guide in a dream. I had a dream that a native elder with feathers in his hair told me to "follow the white waters." I had the latter dream at a young age and I can still remember it very clearly. This real life elder told me it prolly meant I have healing hands.

I don't believe that I've met my spirit guide, but perhaps I haven't been paying close enough attention.

I have Native American in my blood, Iroqois tribe. I know I don't look it at all, but my mother's side of the family definitely does.
