I received a 35% raise this week. Granted, it involves me switching companies and moving to Maine. However, Portland is a great small city, I'll be working at a great hotel and I just signed a lease today on a two bedroom apartment that's $100 a month cheaper than the one bedroom I have here in Vermont. I'll be lonely for awhile as I don't know a soul there, but in the long run, it will be great.
the thing is, I had to push and push for this raise....... I was topped out (they normally wont pay anyone above my hourly wage), but I showed them what a commodity I am to that place...... so I worked a 25 cent raise, not much, but says alot..... no one makes at or more than I do.
It's not about the money it's about them doing it as a gesture to show that they value and appreciatte you...congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!
