Hi brothers and sisters, I hope you are all coping well with winter, I know that for some folk, especially those on the road, it can be a hard time. Firstly, I just wanted to send my winter blessings out to you all and give you a bit of warmth from my heart.

My second reason for starting this post is purely selfish! As some of you know, I live in England where most folk are pretty much only able to live in the forest during the summer which is what I do travelling around the UK Camp Scene. Thing is I'm planning on moving out of babylon perminently as of next summer and had been considering either going over to America or Australia for the autumn and winter of 2006.

I'm under the impression that you also have your main gatherings during the summer. Is it easy enough for a guy to travel from gathering to gathering during the winter? Are there gathering on at that time of year? Are they one after the other meaning that I wouldn't end up having to stop in a city inbetween gatherings?

I hope someone is able to answer some of my questions.

    Love to you all!

There are some folks on farms that are willing to let other folks stay with them between Gatherings & there are Regional Gatherings that happen during the winter. A lot of road folks take some time in January & February to make some green energy at the Arizona rock & gem show (Quartsite & Tuscon) Tuscon is a city but Quartsite is a little town that turns into a giant bazaar in January.

Another 'between Gatherings' idea is to stop in to one of the Gulf Coast relief kitchens and lend a helping hand; we've heard the New Waveland Cafe has been asked to re-set up and stay in Waveland Mississippi for another 6 months to a year.

The fact that Quartzite is a "good" winter option is a bit sad. Several hundred thousand RVer's (yes, close to 1/2 a million people), packed together doesn't seem like the escape from babylon you're looking for. There are farms, and intentional communities (ic.org), if you're considering private property. Perhaps the more remote hot springs would be something to consider: Saline Valley, Deep Creek, Verde. There used to be well supported all winter tree-sits, but i don't know if that's still happening, the loggers got all mean.....
On the other hand i notice that New Zealand is having a 3 month gathering from Jan-Apr 2006, and there is probably something is Oz (aus), as well. Makes more sense being in the Southern Hemisphere. And then there's Goa, India....
