Might as well clump 'em all together since they're so connected. Someone already made a post about Hannibal Lector being the ultimate bad guy, I'd like to add a +1 to that. Anthony Hopkins is awesome, he makes my skin just CRAWL as Hannibal Lector. "Hannibal" wasn't as good as the other two, I didn't think. Silence of the Lambs was brilliant, especially with Buffalo Bill..."It rubs the lotion on its skin, or else it gets the hose again...." and then Red Dragon, with the addition of Ralph Fiennes? Beautiful. Just amazing. I doubt anyone else could have played Hannibal as well - but feel free to throw around suggestions lol Also, who was a better Clarice? Jodie Foster or Julianne Moore?
Jodie Foster has my vote. I read Silence of the Lambs and I adored it. Then, after I saw the movie, I was in love. It's brilliant.
I go with Jodie Foster... did you ever see MANHUNTER with Brian Cox as Hannibal...it's a great movie, but they remade it as RED DRAGON, Cox is good, but it is tough to watch someone other then Hopkins play Hannibal
Aww thanks Slutter! lol to be honest, I think to truly appreciate the beauty of these films, you HAVE to be a little bit psycho! Now, who's hungry for fava beans??
haha, that's great ^ but, i agree, silence was the better of the trilogy, if you wanna call it that. and jodie foster was hands down better as clarice. i didn't watch the rest of hannibal because she wasn't in it. just my opinions though. peace. <3
Jodie Foster of course. I get the feeling Hannibal would have been so much better if Jodie Foster reprised her role; Julianne Moore just killed it for me. Silence of the Lambs is one of my favorite films. I read the book before I saw the film and was not dissappointed in the least.
These movies are great, I love them all. I think the funniest out of the three was Hannibal. I like the part where Hannibal made that guy cut his face off with a piece of broken glass. Next was when Ray Liota was eating his own brain. And last when that little chinese kid was eating the brains on the airplane. For being horror movies, these movies have quite the amount of humor. I love them all.
silence is the best of the three. Jodie Foster played a much better clarice, even though i love julianne moore.
The best horror movies are always the ones with a bit of humour in them. Hannibal Lector is a funny, funny man - and intellectual, which usually produces the best kind of humour anyway. I love the comment he makes to Ray Liota about keeping up with adult conversation or he'll have to sit at the kiddie table...classic, just classic.
Silence definitely, and Jodie without a doubt. Must admit, the film ending to Hannibal really annoyed me, preferred the book when she kinda went over to the dark side (or he came back to the light, or they met in some murky middle area, however you see it)
I haven't seen Hannibal, mainly 'cause of the whole it-sounds-freaking-disgusting-ness, but I really liked Silence, even though it scared the shit out of me.
i prefer manhunter to be honest. in comparison red dragon was poor. manhunter was unnerving because it was so understated, incredibly menacing, with a focus on the psychological, the acting was excellent and the soundtrack is out of this world. i always thought brian cox was the better hannibal as well, although i do love anthony hopkins for the horror side of it. silence of the lambs is an excellent film, but imo manhunter is superior.
