There are several websites out there that sell handmade clothing. You can do a search on Ebay or on Google for "Hippie Patchwork" and come up with a slew of sellers. i saw a book on how to make clothes from like the 60s, it was really cool, i should have got it. but anyways check out those sites red posted, and im sure some of the ladys from here can help you out more. if all else fails theres always trial and error.
I always get my clothes at www.walmart.com They are very reasonably priced and good quality too. They would work good if you want to make some patch pants because they are so cheap.
