We sit there and we stare… Shhh don’t a say a word... We are staring.

We are feeding our emotions, we are thirsty… we are bored.

We sit there, like zombies, no changes in patterns… just programs… like a machine.

I wish we were evolving and moving, growing and building

But better yet, let us sit there, and stare...at a box, a screen.

While it installs a corruption, an obsession, an invisible existence, a disease.

It should come with a warning label on it-“Twenty years of your life could be taken if plugged in, so go ahead and make a fish tank or a planter, out of this t.v.”

I used to have the same sentiments toward the television, and pretty much still do. I'm not too big a fan of the thing, and would prefer to read a book when I run out of desire to do something more worthy. Sometimes I think reading is just as meaningless tho, dependent upon what you read, of course. I guess everything we do to kill time is the real culprit... including sleep (a personal war I've declared). Constantly shooting towards goals is the way to be.

well, i don't mind sleep, it's one of the highlights of my day :)

But I'm with you on the whole TV thing, though. Internet too; computer screen or TV screen, it's pretty much the same. I'm guilty of indulging (overindulging) in both, sadly enough. Just not much else to do these days.

    Anyways, good poem.
