I am going to have to deal with this eventually... Try to explain that is who you are, and it's nothing you can change.. Just stress that you're the same person that they've known.
I guess I don't really have a problem, though, considering I'm not gay. I just don't like having hateful parents, is all. At least they don't hate me.
See, that's sort of near my situation, except my parents hate me because I stand up for gay rights. They just can't stand the "immorality" of my radical beliefs.
Yeah it's kind of hard to change someones beliefs unless they're directly affected by it. I hope you can teach your parents to be more tolerant. good luck.
you should call in one of their idols that they adore, (...i dont who...lets go with issac hays) and have them come by and tell them why they should be more tolerant of gays, and why its so wrong to simple just hate gay people for being gay or people who support the homosexual life style
Do they jump to conclusions based upon what you stand for? MINE do that. They're ALWAYS asking why I "like gay people so much". It's an awkward situation... So are you or are you not gay?
1. Leave. 2. Become a lawyer. 3. Take your female parent to a salon and hire a gay man to charm her. Make them shopping buddies. 4. Give them gay porn for Christmas. 5. Place a large anvil on a bookshelf. Wait for something to happen. 6. Tell them Jesus was a dyke. 7. Shave your hair off. 8. Go to Vegas. Kidnap Wayne Newton. 9. (something else here) 10. (probably something else here too) That should work.
you have woody allen in your genes AND your jeans, of course i knew you'd come up with the best ideas.
The real question should be: why the hell would you still live at home at 19? And if you don't, substitute: why do you still care that much about what your parents think?
