DEN HAAG - The tweede kamer (house of commons) has agreed with politician Geert Wilders that there must be a ban on muslim women wearing burkas in public.
A burka is an islamic dress where only the eyes can be seen. The reason is because women that wear these things can never integrate into Dutch society.

No, but they'd consider a ban on anyone wearing an England football shirt, or displaying the English flag:mad:

Why are you interfering with the free expression of religion?

I'm not. I just thought it might be an interesting topic. It in no way reflects my own views, I'm just a reporting service.

All religion is the worse man-made invention ever created.
Religion is for people who can't think for themselves who
need a bible to do the thinking for them. imo.

Arrogant words I know, but thats how I feel about religion.!

Exactly, shows what a joke of a country we live in when displaying the national flag is almost classed as being racist.

In the Netherlands there already was a school that banned people who wear the Dutch flag on their clothes.

It's sort of the same with our British flag too,
kids are not allowed to display it on their school sports clothes
as it's Englishness, could cause offence.

Yes, that one represents us all as England which includes Wales,
Scotland, Ireland, The Union Jack has a long interesting history
but I won't bore anyone about it here. LOL

The British/English day for the UK is 23rd April, St Georges day,
with St Georges flag, (red cross, white background).
Although, to be honest the patron Saint of Ireland, St Patrick
is probably celebrated more in the UK today than St George.

The thing I don't get is why during the Olympics for example it's Great Britain, but during football it's England.

And what do you think of the 'new' Union Jack?
