PvdA (Dutch Labour Party) Want Legal Weed Plantation in Westland

ROTTERDAM - The PvdA candidate for Rotterdam, Peter van Heemst wants there to be a legal plantation for growing weed to regulate the supply to coffeeshops. He wants it to be run by the council.

With this move he hopes to combat the problem of people growing weed in their homes, and the illegal supply to coffeeshops by criminals. It is estimated that there are around 11000 private weed growers in Rotterdam alone. He also wants it to regulate the amount of THC that is contained in the weed, which at the moment is very high, and can lead to a sort of dependance and psychosis.
