Try chanting then if it's too hard to meditate. A half hour of chanting will put you to sleep. I promise.

apparently eating foods like lettuce or porridge before going to bed helps with sleep..

Maybe you just dont need as much sleep as other people do. For years I struggled trying to go to sleep when everyone else did, but now i dont even try to sleep until im very tired. I read a while back that a study had been carried out and a soldier can survive on 4 hours sleep every night and keep on training hard like normal. Im not saying only sleep for 4 hours each night, but dont worry about it, your body will know how much sleep it needs. Take it easy,

i heard somewhere that you should try to stay away from the computer screen and the tv atleast an hour before bed. Like read a book or something. I heard it helped you sleep.....but who knows i could be wrong...

    Hi,

I have the same problem as you, especially when I take out my contact lenses just b4 I go to bed, my eyes strain so much!. With me, it seems that it is 50/50 whether I have a great nights sleep or if I don't really sleep at all!!.

I also have lots of things on my mind when I am trying to doze off, these thoughts can be anything from girls that I like, Problems in my life that I am having, to random stupid thoughts!, and I can never seem 2 get them out of my head when I am trying to go 2 sleep.

I don't really know what to suggest!, but a cup of tea usually helps me sleep for some reason!!,

    Take Care!!,

I have a monkey mind, too. Look into vipassana meditation. I get super-sleepy when I practice it. (lol)

as far as i go....i have a tolerance to all sleep aids out there...so the only thing that helps me is doing yoga and smoking the herb before i go to bed. Although I dont always have acces to the herb, but when it is there i utilize it.....it would be nice if we had medical marijuana in my state.
