Wow! I gained around 40 pounds when I was pregnant with my twins, and around 20 pounds when I was pregnant with my oldest son. But one of my friends gained 80 pounds while pregnant with her daughter!
51 with my son (14 years today), and he was such a barracuda nurser that I was back in my old jeans in three weeks.
My friend gained 92 pounds when she was pregnant (10 pound baby). About 2 weeks after she gave birth you would have never known that she had been pregnant at all. Some people gain more weight than others, hopefully it will be easy for you to lose after you have the baby. I gained 49 with my twins but it took me a couple of months to lose it.
Yeah everyone tells me it looks like it's all belly.. My brother were big babys 13 and 12lb.. I was tiny 4lb. My knees are killing me with all this weight. Every book tells you the normal weight gain 25-35 lb..I think they need to be updated
I gained 60 with my first and about 40-45 with my second, but I was underweight when I got pregnant with my first and at average weight with my second.
I gained 65lbs with my first, but I am unsure about the second because I have bronchitis at the time of delivery, so I had lost all my water weight....
No kidding, huh?! My (male) obstetrician kept telling me that I was gaining too much weight and that I needed to stop using the pregnancy as an excuse to over eat. I guess I gained about 40 pounds or so with that pregnancy. The thing was, I was only eating when I was hungry and I threw up a lot. 25 pounds? I would have had to have taken fen-phen to gain only 25 lbs! WTF? Don't worry about it. Especially if you breastfeed, the baby will suck all that weight right off! Also, don't freak out if you don't look a lot smaller right after the baby's born, like that first day. Your uterus has to shrink back. It's not weight.
