Both my wife and son have confirmed to me on more than one occasion that they both wished I would drink a little more. This is extremely odd being that most women complain of the husband's alcohol-consuming. However, I am not a wife-beater, obnoxious, rowdy, or rude when I drink. Nor do I drink excessively. I am a very consistent drinker, but a very cautious and limited one. I know my limits and NEVER exceed them. However, I transform into a lovable, overtly happy, utopian when I consume. After the margaritas (mostly) set in, I become a joy to be around. I've even been told that when I am drinking I make the whole world seem warm and fuzzy--like everything is just gonna be alright. When sober I am still a good guy, but much more cynical and serious. My son tells me that I should drink more "happy juice". Yes, that's what his mother called it when he asked "Why is Daddy so happy today?". I further informed him that it is just for grown-ups because kids have built-in happy juice that goes emptier the older you get--so you can fill it up again with a bottle of happy juice from the "Happy Juice" store. Does anyone else find this odd? Or have this similar "problem"?
YES! Everyone around me is always telling me that I should drink. ***hello - news flash - I don't drink!*** I hate the buzz, I hate being sick and I am a very small person so it only takes me like 2 drink to get a buzz. People around me constantly offer me drinks and when i say that I don't drink they look at me like I am some sort of freak!!! In my opinion, seeing as how I am a pot head, drinking is a much more dangerous past time. People get out of control, think that they can drive cars without crashing or killing someone, get poisoning, black out and a bunch of other shit that comes with it. I say smoke a joint, take a walk in the forrest and be happy/safe.
Here are the facts about me and drinking: 1- I have never driven after drinking. 2- I have never beaten someone up after drinking. 3- I never have hangovers. 4- I never blackout. 5- I never get violent or even rude after drinking. 6- I can go months without ever touching a drop. Alcohol has a very odd effect on me. Either that or I just know how and what to drink and when it is appropriate. I really believe in responsible, but fun and relaxing drinking. I just find it odd that someone's family actually says, "Do it more!"
It IS strange that they would want you to do it more! I guess another reason I don't drink is because I have lost 3 family members from drinking. One had poisoning from too much to drink, one's liver failed on him over the years and the last one was driving drunk and crashed into another car which in turn killed 2 others. So in the end, when your family says "drink more" say, sorry, but there are way more important things to me in life then a drink!
great to get really pissed here and there, alchohol is lame, but fun, but only if i have no responsibilities before like 12 the next day
I have been told that I am more fun when I drink, but I think that is just because I am sloppy funny and I kiss everyone.
