Do you married guys COOK for your wife? These days, I find NO greater pleasure than her reaction when tasing my cooking. But, I've always been a decent cook.
awww, I love cooking. If I had a sweetie I'd be cooking for him or her when I could. And do the dishes together if possible, because I hate doing them by myself Cooking for people is so much fun though, very gratifying
Both my dh and I are pretty good cooks (I'm better, especially if he's drunk) but he coks a lot. I would say I cook about 50% of the time, he cooks 30% of the time and the rest is going out, or getting some crap like frozen pizza or take out. Bear loves to cook, but does somehow want to be waited on when doing so (ever see the comic where the dude is standing in front of a fridge filled with nothing but butter and he's yelling, "Honey, where's the BUTTER????" That's my Bear. I also made a jokey rule that "Bear is not allowed to buy chili powder for the rest of his life. He buys a new can or bag every time he makes something with it, so I took out all the chili powders and took a picture. Entitited: Why Bear Isn't Allowed to Buy Chili Powder Anymore. He thought that was pretty funny. I'll post the pic, if I can remember how to do it. But he really enjoys cooking. Only he doesn't bake. Too many directions. Dude has never opened a cookbook and most of what he makes is edible. When I was pregnant and on total bedrest for preterm labor, he cooked all the meals made at home. As well as after the babies came, for a week or so, until I got on my feet. With my recent Chronic Fatigue-Fibro problems, sadly, we've been eating too much frozen crap (egg rolls, pizza puffs, ect.) But last week I had it in me to cook four nights. Now, if we could only have the teens home more for dinner!
dave is very particular about how his food is grilled. so he grills the meat, i do the other stuff. when i'm in charge of the meal, i do the stuff like roasts, jambalaya & so on.
I usually do the cooking for my man, but mostly because these days he's working and I'm at home. I think we also both feel like I do a generally better job of it... (though sometimes I wonder if he purposfully acts like an oaf in the kitchen so I will just good-naturedly take over) The one thing that really makes me laugh as far as "getting waited on" is when we're in a hurry to eat and drive through Taco Bell or something - we'll get it home and he waits for me to take the food out of the bags and hand him his. Silly huh?
Nope. In our household, whoever cooks, CLEANS. But I'll share a Professional Chef's kitchen secret with you all. Rule: #1: CLEAN AS YOU GO. I'm baking oatmeal/rasin cookies later today for my wife.
i would love to have someone cook for me ... is why i do enjoy a nice restaurant once in a while.. my biggest problem is i am a damned good cook not braginn... just ask anyone,,, so food that is not better than what i can do this sounds rotten i know,,,, just sux,,, and really disspapoints me and hell on occassion even pisses me off that someone ruined that awesome hunka meat or whatever... therefore in order to keep things happy in the house ...since happiness is linked to the stomach n we all k now this... i do all the cooking.... i must add in all fairness though ,,,, hhb is a pretty good cook ,, he used to do most of it before i came ,,,, and if lil brother measa420 ever comes n visits n wants to cook,,,, take anything in the hot n spicy seasoning dept out of your kitchen and keep it under key til he leaves.... luv n lite man i sound like a snoot sometimes dont i???
Cooking is so creative, I cook about 75% of the time cause I'm home first. I learned cooking in the boy scouts and on camp outs.
ohh brother measa,, he got his cullinary arts degree in prison.. after the thai he cooked for us,,i truly wonder how he wasnt shanked in there..
My bf undercooked spaghetti and put sauce on it before he realized. He's not good at cooking and has been banned a couple times from cooking. He fixes us ramien though. That's his skill level in the kitchen. Peace & Love
My Dad taught me when I was 12. My family never thought I'd find someone to take care of me. I was taught to sew, iron, wash laundry and cook. I guess all those chicks who wouldn't go out with me in school, lost out on a great guy!
My husband and I both cook, although my husband is a TERRIBLE cook. He has a really bad habit of leaving the kitchen and letting stuff boil or cook too long, either that or undercooking stuff. He also seems to have no idea how to read directions. Unfortunatly I am not that good a cook either, but I do make sure to follow directions. Mostly we eat out...lol
Adam burnt a sandwich beyond saving... so that's why he doesn't cook! Plus our kitchen is so nasty that I don't cook either. We too are eating out. Peace & Love
Honey, don't let him get off that easy. Some dudes will screw up chores, so that you will "ban" him from doing them. Then, he never has to bother. Have him try again, and even help teach him (if he lets you, Bear is NOT fond of my knowing more about things than he does....which is really common. LOL.) or get some easy cook books out of the library and have him follow them to the letter. Don't let a probable intentional screw up allow him from cooking or doing anything else. I have a friend whose dh does NOTHING around the house, as he intentionally screws up everything, so she will "ban" him from that area of the housework. He needs practice, not banning. The only thing Bear is "banned" from is laundry. Mainly because he thinks bleach is a neccesary addditive to every load, said his mom did it this way (you can always tell a Bear, but you can't tell him much) and, even though he is an elecrical engineer, he cannot work the front loader washing machine. He refuses to read the manual (which you have to do, to run this high tec machine) so he is putting soap INTO the barrel, not programming it right ect. Maybe it's intentional, but I think it is just not his forte.
