yes i will..we're going to record the vocals on one track, the guitar on another, etc..you know the drill.. and then we'll overdub exotic instruments to get that psychedelic feel that we want...it's gonna be groovy.
do keep in mind that "4-track" means just that thats something that will probably bring me down a few times in the future... "yellow teeth" on my myspace needed 6 tracks the first time i recorded it.
True, but you can always mix-down, which basically gives you infinite tracks. And since you're doing digital, you shouldn't have to worry about losing sound quality. I'm an analogue man, myself. Whatever.
i have no idea what youre talking about please explain... i'd rather get an analog too, but you cant hook analog up to computers, can you? ...can you even do that with digital?
derek is the kind of guy that i would like to record with...he seems to know alot about it, cause i didnt really understand what he was saying either
Ahaha, okay, let me try to explain this. Let's say you record four tracks, say... a guitar track, a synth track, a drum track, and a bass track. Well, you could combine all of those tracks down into one track by mixing down. Then, you would three more tracks to work with; you would just now have your guitars, synths, drums, and bass on one track instead of four. They would no longer be independent of each other. Does that make any sense?
I've never been a fan of digital, but it works for jotting down notes and examples that I can send to people. It's just something I have to face, though the half-life of analog has always been a miracle. Cartridge games too, man.
