blues violinists

    any ones i need to know about?

    and is b;ues 'easy' beuccase i played it last night and it seemed really easy.

    You're going to have to look these people up,like on All Music Guide,and see what's avaliable out there.
    Stuff Smith.A jazz violinist who played a lot of blues,and had a blues feeling when he played other stuff.Fantastic.
    Don "Sugarcane" Harris.Had an r&b duo in the 50's & 60's called Don & Dewey.Circa 1970 he did at least one album with John Mayall where he was featured.
    Papa John Creach.played with Hot Tuna in the early 70's,did some solo records too.
    Bob Wills & his Texas Playboys.Western swing always included some straight ahead blues,and general bluesiness by all the soloists,fiddle and otherwise.CD recommend: The Tiffany Transcriptions Vol 3,Basin Street Blues.

    He's not blues violin, but you may find recordings of Yank Rachel interesting or useful as he played blues on mandolin which is the same tuning as violin.
