hey everybody! just letting you know that my hubby and i are going to be moving to madison in may and we were wondering if there were any kynd souls living in the area that we could find and visit with. let me knowit would be really nice to meet a couple of people before we move. good day everyone
iam from mad town, check out state street great hippie shop there called sunshineday dream, and check out pipe fitters
Congradulations! I used to live right around Madison. Still go back a lot, great great place. Stoney said it right, just go down to state street, within a minuite you'll feel at home with all the hip people. Sunshine Daydreams a great store too, bought my first dirtbag there.
i know plenty of folks in madison, and all around the southern wisco area. i'm from milwaukee, there is a huge network of people on the east side... drop me a line if ur in the area. otherwise, stick around state street and meet some of the street musicians. some of them are very good people, very talented and will be there every week. i've always found someone to jam with or talk to.
I used to live there. It is an incredibly bicycle friendly city, considering how mediocre the weather. Critical Mass Rides are a nice place to meet people. http://www.loganfamily.ws/matt/cmass/ There's lots of local music for an average size city. On the down side for me, there's more than enough Packerspeak, and Badger-Brewerbabble.
Im from Fisk, near Omro. Fuckin A dude! Im going back for like a 3 months, Im gonna miss it here in ashland but Im definately coming back! Im kinda worried because I havent been back in like two years, so it might be wierd but its home to me. I gotta go see my family back there, but that means I gotta leave my family out here for awhile! It sucks but it must be done..........................
huh, i just had to choose between madison and colorado. i chose colorado. wisconsin is great, but is WAAAY to damn cold here.
hey i am from madison wisconsin. i know alot of people up there they are so nice and awesome. likje tumble said hang around state street (down town madison) and you will meet some really nice and interesting people. good luck and stay warm it's in the low 20's up there right now
I grew up there. It's very nice. I'm sort of...sort of contemplating moving back. I really like it, except for the freezing my ass off part. A friend (well, more than a friend...sigh...) has even offered to come and get my kids and I if I get rid of all of my nonessential, replaceable stuff. You won't have any trouble meeting people there. Go to the festivals, the Farmers Market on the capitol square (maybe not. I went back a couple of years ago and apparently everyone in the state was there. We could hardly walk.), the protests and stuff. It's a fun place to people watch and stuff. Have you checked out the website of the local alternative paper, the Isthmus? www.thedailypage.com That will give you a great idea about what's going on there.
I live about two hours from Madison One hour, if you drive the way I do I couldn't pass up replying to the topic because it's rare that I find another Wisconsiner over the net
madison is a cool town. plenty to do there. my friends have a farm about an hour to the west that i go to everyonce in a while, sometimes i hit up madison for shows. i just moved up to st paul though.
